Clarification Notice For SSC MTS Exam 2016


Dear Aspirants, 

A very important Notice For All Of You. 

SSC has released an important Clarification notice regarding MTS Exam, 2016. 

As per the Notice " Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination, 2016 was conducted by the Commission in two stages. 

Paper-I of this examination, which was objective type multiple choice question based, was conducted from 16.9.2017 to 31.10.2017 in the computer-based mode, in which 19,96,411 candidates appeared. The result of this examination was declared on 15.1.2018, in which 1,59,182 candidates were qualified for appearing in Paper-II of the examination. 

Paper-II of this examination is mandatory, but only of qualifying nature. The candidates must appear in this paper which is of 50 marks, however marks obtained in this paper is not taken into account for preparing the merit list of the candidates for final selection. As per the Notice of the Examination, the candidates are required to only qualify in this paper. Paper-II of this examination was conducted on 28.1.2018, in which a total of 1,43,657 candidates appeared. 

There are about 10,300 vacancies for MTS, 2016 Examination. The Commission has declared a list of 23,511 candidates for document verification on the basis of merit (in Paper-I) + preference of State(s)/UT exercised by the candidates in their application form strictly as per the terms of the Notice of the Examination. Candidates who do not score qualifying marks in Paper-II, (as specified in the result write-up i.e. 17.5 out of 50 marks for UR category and 16.5 marks out of 50 for all other categories) will not be considered for final selection. 

This advanced action of document verification has been taken on the basis of the marks obtained in Paper-I + preference of State(s) /UT exercised by them (on which the final merit list of the candidate will be prepared subject to their qualifying in Paper-II) to expedite the declaration of result by 31st March, 2018 so that the candidates may get their employment as early as possible and the Government Departments may also get their vacancies filled at the earliest. If this advance action was not taken by the Commission, the final result of this examination would have been declared only in the month of July, 2018. 

It is once again reiterated that the list of candidates for document verification has been prepared on the basis of the merit of the candidates in Paper-I + preference of State /UT exercised by them. Only candidates equal to the number of available vacancies who also qualify in Paper-II will be finally selected. 

The Commission has also decided to make available the scores of all the candidates in Paper-I. The candidates may view their marks in Paper-I on the website of the Commission using their Roll Number or Registration Id and password w.e.f. 27.2.2018."
