Q.1 – In each of the following question two equations are given you have to solve them and give answer.

(I) x2 – x – 6 = 0

(II) y2 + 7y + 10 = 0

Sol. (4) –

(I) x2 – x – 6 = 0
x2 – 3x + 2x – 6 = 0
x(x – 3) +2(x – 3) = 0
(x – 3) (x+2) = 0
x = 3, x = –2
(II) y2 + 7n + 10 = 0
y2 + 5n + 2y + 10 = 0
y(y + 5) + 2(y + 5) = 0
(y + 5) (y + 2) = 0
y = – 5, y = – 2
x > y

Sol. (2) –

4x – 3y = 12
2x + 3y = 30
Solving (I) and (II)/ (I) and (II) को हल करने पर,
x = 7

(x + 2) (2x + 1) = 0

2y2 + 7y + 4y + 14 = 0
y (2y + 7) + 2 (2y + 7) = 0

Sol. (1) –

(I) x2 – 19x + 88 = 0
x2 – x (11 + 8) + 88 = 0
x2 – 11x – 8x + 88 = 0
x(x – 11) – 8(x – 11) = 0
(x – 11) (x – 8) = 0
x = 11, x = 8
(II) y2 – 48y + 576 = 0
y2 – 24y – 24y + 576 = 0
(y – 24)2 = 0
y = 24, 24

x2 – 7x – 2x + 14 = 0
x(x – 7) – 2(x – 7) = 0
(x – 7) (x – 2) = 0
x = 7, x = 2
(II) y2 – y – 2 = 0
y2 – 2y + y – 2 = 0
y(y – 2) +1(y – 2) = 0
(y – 2) (y +1) = 0
y = 2, y = –1
