Renowned Malayalam writer Punathil Kunjabdulla passed away

Renowned Malayalam writer and novelist Punathil Kunjabdulla passed

away. He was 77.

He won the Kendriya Sahitya Academy Award for his novel "Smarakasilakal" (memorial stones) in the year 1980 and was also recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 1978 and 1980.

प्रख्यात मलयालम लेखक और उपन्यासकार पुनाथिल कुंजाब्दुल्ला का निधन हो गया। वह 77 वर्ष के थे।

उन्होंने वर्ष 1980 में उनके उपन्यास ‘स्मारकसिलाकल’ के लिए केंद्रीय साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार भी जीता था और उन्हें वर्ष 1978 और 1980 में केरल साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार भी मिला था।

Sab TV co-owner Gautam Adhikari died, he was 67

Leading television producer, Gautam Adhikari, who is considered as one of the pioneers of the Marathi TV industry, passed away. He was 67.

Gautam and his brother Markand started a company-- Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) Group - in 1985 as a small family owned partnership firm. It went on to become the first publicly-listed television

production company in India when it was listed on the BSE in 1995. The company initially produced serials in Marathi, but soon ventured into film distribution & production business.

टेलीविजन के जाने माने निर्माता गौतम अधिकारी का निधन

टेलीविजन के जाने माने निर्माता और मराठी टीवी उद्योग की अग्रणी हस्तियों में से एक गौतम अधिकारी का निधन हो गया। वह 67 वर्ष के थे।

गौतम और उनके भाई मार्कंड ने वर्ष 1985 में श्री अधिकारी ब्रदर्स (एसएबी) ग्रुप शुरू किया था।

वर्ष 1995 में बीएसई में सूचीबद्ध होने के बाद यह भारत की पहली सार्वजनिक-सूचीबद्ध टेलीविजन प्रोडक्शन कंपनी बन गयी थी।यह कंपनी शुरुआत में मराठी भाषा में धारावाहिकों का निर्माण करती थी लेकिन जल्द इसने

फिल्म वितरण एंव निर्माण कारोबार में भी कदम रखा।

Venezuelan opposition wins European rights prize

The European Parliament awarded the prestigious Sakharov human rights prize to the beleaguered Venezuelan opposition, calling for a "peaceful transition to democracy" in the crisis-hit country.

The prize was awarded to the Venezuelan National Assembly, dominated by opposition parties, and to political prisoners.

वेनेजुएला के विपक्ष ने जीता यूरोपीय मानवाधिकार पुरस्कार

यूरोपीय संसद ने संकटों में घिरी वेनेजुएला की विपक्ष को प्रतिष्ठित सखारोव मानवाधिकार पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया है और संकट में घिरे देश में "लोकतंत्र के लिये शांतिपूर्ण परिवर्तन" की मांग की है।

यह पुरस्कार वेनेजुएला की नेशनल असेंबली को दिया गया जिस पर विपक्षी दलों

और राजनीतिक बंदियों का प्रभुत्व है।

अनिल खेतान पीएचडी वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंडल के नये अध्यक्ष बने हैं। उद्योग मंडल की संपन्न हुई 112वीं वार्षिक आम बैठक के मौके पर उन्होंने अध्यक्ष का कार्यभार संभाल लिया।
