1. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated a grid-connected solar power plant of 16 MW capacity at the Ordinance Factory in Telangana’s Medak. He also dedicated a 9 MW capacity windmill project installed at Dammur in Karnataka.
रक्षा मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने तेलंगाना के मेडक में आयुध निर्माणी में 16 मेगावाट क्षमता के ग्रिड से जुड़े सौर उर्जा संयंत्र का उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने कर्नाटक के दम्मूर में नौ मेगावाट क्षमता की पवनचक्की परियोजना का भी शुभारंभ किया।
2. Veteran filmmaker and former Union minister Dasari Narayana Rao died. He was 75.
प्रसिद्ध फिल्म निर्माता और पूर्व केन्द्रीय मंत्री दसारी नारायण राव का निधन हो गया। वह 75 वर्ष के थे।
3. President Pranab Mukherjee awarded Fujii Takeshi of Japan and Gabriela Nik Ilieva of US with the George Grearson Award for promoting Hindi language.

10. Only four Indians feature in 'ESPN's World Fame 100', a list ranking the world's 100 most famous athletes. Virat Kohli, ranked 13th, is followed by MS Dhoni at 15th place, while Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina are ranked 90th and 95th, respectively.
ईएसपीएन की दुनिया के 100 सबसे प्रसिद्ध एथलीटों की रैंकिंग सूची 'ईएसपीएन वर्ल्ड फेम 100' में मात्र चार भारतीय शामिल हैं। इस सूची मे विराट कोहली 13 वें स्थान पर, महेंद्र सिंह धोनी 15 वें स्थान पर जबकि युवराज सिंह और सुरेश रैना क्रमशः 90 वें तथा 95 वां स्थान पर हैं
